Sea Salt Spray – DIY

This is a fun, easy-to-make recipe that can be customized for your hair type. It can be used on wet or dry hair and you can add any essential oils that you like to make it smell wonderful. If you use Himalayan sea salt it also has a beautiful, earthy-pink color to it. Give it a try and see what you think!

Straight and/or Fine Hair

This recipe will give hold and volume to straight, fine and/or oily hair. It is still gentle but less conditioning than the second recipe.

1 cup warm water

1 Tbsp Himalayan pink sea salt (any salt will do but I like the color of this one)

1 tsp Epsom salt

1/2 Tbsp Aloe vera gel

1/2 – 1 tsp Argan oil

10-15 drops of any essential oil you like

Curly, Wavy and/or Dry, Frizzy Hair

This recipe is more conditioning to keep curls bouncy but NOT frizzy and increase the waves in wavy hair.

1 cup warm water

1 Tbsp Epsom salt

1 tsp Himalayan pink sea salt

1 Tbsp Aloe vera gel

1 tsp Argan oil

10-15 drops of any essential oil you like

Warm the water to almost boiling. Add epsom and sea salt and stir until dissolved. Pour into a pint-sized mason jar and allow to cool slightly. Add aloe vera gel, argan oil and essential oils and shake well. Once it is cool, transfer to a glass or plastic spray bottle. Shake well before each use.

You can spray on straight hair before blow drying and again after if you want a little more hold. For curly or wavy hair simply spray on wet hair and allow to dry.
